Rhapsody on the Point Concert to benefit the Point Loma High School Music Program Friday, May 29 at Crill Hall, Point Loma Nazarene University 6:00 Reception; 7:30 Concert The evening will include musical selections from PLHS Symphonic Winds, Concert Band and Orchestra, a silent auction, and a presentation by our guest performer and keynote speaker John Wilds. John is currently principal trumpet with the San Diego Opera Orchestra, second trumpet with the San Diego Symphony, and he performs with San Diego Chamber Orchestra. The event also honors Dell Schroeder for her commitment to developing young musicians in our community. The Point Loma High School Music Program is dedicated to excellence in music, academic performance and school spirit. More than 200 students participate in Vanguard (Marching Band), Symphonic Winds, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Choir, Orchestra, Dance Company, Color Guard, and AP Music Theory. Music groups represent Point Loma High School in our community and throughout southern California. School District funding is minimal - $7 per student/year – so we must find other ways to fund $70,000 annual costs for music, instruments, uniforms, entry fees, transportation and equipment. We invite you to support PLHS Music Program by joining us for the benefit concert on May 29. You may purchase tickets or make a donation online at: http://www.plhsfaa.org/eprocess_rhapsody2009.html For information, contact: Maureen Holman, 619 223-3547,
