Clarinets
Katrina Earl is a professional clarinetist and private instructor in San Diego County. She has studied clarinet with San Diego Symphony principal clarinetist, Sheryl Renk, as well as bass clarinet with San Diego Symphony Clarinetist/Bass Clarinetist, Frank Renk. Katrina received her Master’s in Clarinet Performance in 2016. She is currently principal clarinetist with the San Diego City Ballet Orchestra, clarinetist with Opera Neo, clarinet instructor at Klassik Arts Studio, and woodwind coach at various San Diego county schools. She has been teaching and performing as a freelance musician professionally in San Diego for over 10 years. As a teacher and performer, Katrina aims to provide her students and her audience with an enriching musical experience.

Henry Stoker is nationally recognized for his expertise in the marching band and drum corps worlds. Over the past three decades he has established himself as an elite educator, composer, arranger, drill writer and show designer. Mr. Stoker has held the positions of Percussion Caption Head, Drill Writer and Arranger for some of the premier High Schools, Winter Drumlines, and Drum Corps throughout Southern California. 
 
Henry graduated from Mt. Carmel High School and was a member of the illustrious Velvet Knights Drum Corps from 1989-1992. After aging out he was brought back on staff where he worked under Tom Float for three seasons from 1993-1995. Henry also served as Caption Head with the Earthquake Drum and Bugle Corps, Esperanza Drum and Bugle Corps and has consulted with several others. In addition to his drum corps experience, Henry has taught at many of the elite high schools in the Southern California area over the past two decades, including; Serra High School, Mira Mesa High School, Poway High School, Mt. Carmel High School, Rancho Bernardo High School, San Marcos High School, Vista High School, Antelope Valley High School, Palmdale High School, Barry Goldwater High School (Arizona), Mt. Miguel High School, Helix Charter High School, Mission Hills High School, and Point Loma High School.

Mr. Stoker is widely sought after as a consultant, clinician, composer, arranger, drill writer and show designer throughout the Southwest United States. Mr. Stoker attended Mesa College and San Diego State University.

Color Guard

​Lauren Manriki is a teaching artist specializing in Color Guard.  She has extensive experience in performing with World Class Guards, having been a performer at Rancho Buena Vista HS and Vox Artium (where she currently performs).  Prior to arriving at PLHS, Lauren has taught at La Costa Canyon HS, and Rancho Buena Vista HS, where she still continues to work with the guards.

Our Mission

The mission of Point Loma High School Instrumental Music is to provide students with an environment focused on the commitment to musical excellence.  The program is also dedicated to the values of character, leadership, and responsibility through artistic development and training.

All donations are tax deductible. Point Loma Instrumental Music Boosters operate under the Point Loma High School Pointer Association, which is a 501 (3) c not for profit organization.  When making a charitable donation to the Pointer Association, please notate that you would like the money to go to Point Loma Instrumental Music.
